I wanted to share a connection between the Old Testament and the New Testament this morning that I found in my study this morning.
Colossians 1:15-17 (NLT)
“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation. For through him God (Elohim) created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see- such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.”
Paul in his letter to the church at Colosse gives us an insight into God, our Elohim. He reveals that God was. He was before creation ever came to be. He was the beginning and through him all things were made. And they were made FOR him and He is the one that holds it all together.
Knowing that I am a part of His creation and He made me FOR him, how can I glorify him today?
Where did you see Elohim today?
